A Movement by the group The Stillness of Artists

An exploration of the Somerset landscape, reclaiming the views lost to the fast car.

Painting alongside ancient roads, we sought out the overlooked, the fleeting and the almost invisible landscapes that have become casualties of modern speed and progress. Working in the shadow of passing traffic, we found moments of stillness in places seemingly surrendered to noise and intrusion.

Our paintings are an act of attention, a way of pausing long enough to witness what has been left behind, and perhaps to attend to the places we have learned to drive past without seeing.
